Dance…BecauseThat is What We Do!

Spring is always so fun because it's the end of the year dance recitals!  Dave is always a good sport in being willing to go.  He is Aliyah's biggest fan!

Here's Aliyah backstage getting ready to go on...
She loves dancing on stage and had been talking about it all week.
So I wasn't too worried about her nerves.

Here's her cute little class!

All lined up and ready to go.

Aliyah did awesome. This performance was a pretty classic 3 year old dance. The girls got confused about half way through and had a rough time remembering where they were supposed to be and what they were supposed to do. It was still a great success! Her class danced to "Once Upon a December" from the movie Anastasia.  My favorite part is when she was singing with the music and yelled, "Far away, Long ago…" as loud as she could.  Perfect performance!

Here's a perfect example of Dave's love and support!  I came home from a dance class and was really sore, so I put my foot up on Dave's shoulder to stretch it out.  When I was done, Aliyah said, "My turn dad."  very nonchalantly, like of course she would be next in stretching our her legs.

I love this picture of Daddy helping Aliyah!

One of Dave's students gave us tickets to go see the ballet of Cinderella.  It was at the Sandy Amphitheater--which was fun to be outdoors, but we were a little unprepared for the cold.

Luckily we had blankets in our trunk and I had Aliyah's warm body!  Aliyah sat through the whole two hours.  She asked questions to make sure she knew what was going on.  She had comments about their costumes and the funny way they were acting.  But the best was when just before intermission she asks (a little bit loudly) "Do those girls know how to talk?" I love the logic of that…why are they dancing the story and not telling it?

When it was over, Aliyah cried. As we left she thought that we were leaving before it was over and threw a fit.  Lucky Dave…this means we'll be attending A LOT more dance shows than maybe he realized!
